Stain-coverage discovered!

What do you do with a childs shirt that has been stained multiple times and been placed in the rag-pile? Throw it out? I think not!
If you have a few pretty scraps of material laying around and a few hours you can do THIS!
I used strips of dark gray crepe and light gray chiffon to sew little ruffles over the stained area.
With the scraps left over from the scraps, I made this matching hair clip. Matchy-matchy, but cute!

A few things I learned from this project:

1. Fray Check is your friend.
2. USE Fray Check.
3. Use Fray Check on the material BEFORE you sew it into little ruffles. It sure is a lot easier to apply it to flat material.
4. A sewing machine would make this project a LOT faster. I think I logged about 3 hours on this project by hand-stitching it.
5. I need to buy a sewing machine. And learn how to use it.

Look HERE for more idea's on re-fashioning old clothing. This woman is brilliant and inspired me to try my hand at it.

  1. Who knew you were so crafty!? Wonderful stuff!

  2. Really nice work Kayley. I love how it turned out and yes, you will want a sewing machine to help in cutting down your sewing time. It will at least cut your time in half. If you make the investment, buy a really nice sewing machine.

  3. This is amazing! I wish I had this kind of talent. Hopefully I can pick up a few tips from you. I also love your candy cane vases. So cute! Thanks for sharing your talent with those of us who are not so fortunate in the creative area. :)

  4. dang i am amazed i could NEVER do that! i can not believe how big your girl is!

  5. Baby colic is a condition in which a baby cries or screams frequently and for long periods for no apparent reason. This disorder usually occurs in the first months of life, babies, and almost always immediately disappear as soon as they come ergo baby carrier sale until the child reaches eight months of its existence in the world. Baby colic is more common in babies fed with a bottle, but can also occur in children. The crying frequently occurs during a certain time of day, often in the afternoon.
